A new business is looking to turn pure West Coast rainwater into gin, liqueurs and eventually whisky.
Reefton Distilling Co. will open its doors next year in the West Coast town that shares its name, co-founders Patsy Bass and Sean Whitaker said.
While starting at the smaller end of the scale, head distiller Whitaker said Reefton was the perfect place to start a distillery with its access to the “purest water” and fresh ingredients.
They will open the craft distillery and visitor centre to the public in mid-2018.
Gin and liqueurs will be available from mid-2018.
